My career at Kern Microtechnik began in 1996 with an apprenticeship as a toolmaker in stamping and forming technology. After 3.5 years, I successfully completed my training and was also taken on directly by the company.
In the contract manufacturing plant, I was able to apply my knowledge in the milling department and was allowed to manufacture many interesting parts there. Since I was fascinated by mechanical engineering from the very beginning, I decided to continue my education in this field. I chose the technical school in Augsburg, where I completed a 2-year course of study to become a mechanical engineer, and my career at Kern continued. In the application technology department, my tasks were even more extensive and included milling tests, demonstrations, machine demos at trade fairs, worldwide commissioning and training and much more. This meant that my job was always exciting and incredibly varied.
I particularly enjoyed the direct contact with customers. Due to my diverse experience, I got another opportunity to develop within the company after 16 years in application engineering. Since 2019, I have been part of the sales team and, as Area Sales Manager, I look after the Scandinavian and Mediterranean countries.
