KERN
KERN
The Kern Fortis HD is designed with the aim of being the most accurate 5-axis machine for high-precision, series-stable machining of small to very large workpieces with high productivity as well as strong performance in preliminary rough machining.
The combination of micro-gap hydrostatics and lightweight aluminum structural components with the linear direct drives creates a unique, uncompromising synergy in the Kern Fortis HD three-axis system. With additional targeted cooling and continuous monitoring, the machine remains in thermal equilibrium - for consistently high quality even under changing ambient conditions.
Kern CNC machining centers have standardized interfaces for all common automation systems. The ability to integrate a Kern into any existing production system means that our machines offer maximum flexibility and reliability for your automation task.
The automation of a Kern machine for tools and workpieces does not affect your service work in any way; the door to the machine room remains accessible throughout.
The tool magazine of the Kern Fortis HD is based on the proven Micro platform and combines this with new, high-performance components. The integrated 2-axis system achieves an exceptionally high tool density with a minimal footprint.
The heart of the system remains micro-gap hydrostatics in a three-axis system, which has already proven itself in the Kern Micro HD. True to Kern 's development philosophy, this technology has not simply been scaled up, but taken to a whole new dimension through further innovations. The technology of the Kern Fortis HD enables the unrivaled combination of:
The Kern Fortis HD relies on a three-axis composite with structural components made of aluminum - and for good reason: because it offers the perfect balance of weight, rigidity and thermal behavior - and thus creates the basis for highly dynamic, precise and durable axes of motion.
Customer benefits: Maximum accuracy with minimum warm-up time for the life of the machine.
In combination with the thermal design of the Kern Fortis HD, the new linear motors are among the most stable and powerful axis drives. The drive technology of the Kern Fortis HD sets new standards and impresses with its properties:
Precision starts with the temperature, because the same applies today as in the past: The main factors influencing the working accuracy of precision milling machines are thermal effects.
For this reason, Kern continues to focus on high thermal stability in its machine design as the basis for precision, process reliability and high productivity. The Kern Fortis HD has been consistently designed for active, multi-stage temperature management - for constant performance even under demanding conditions.
Stage 1: In the first stage, heat is dissipated directly at the source, i.e. at the solenoid coils of the linear motors, via a separate cooling circuit.
Stage 2: In the second stage, the heat from the entire magnetic track is dissipated.
Stage 3: The third stage prevents heat transfer from the drives to the structural components of the machine.
Stage 4: In the fourth stage, the structure itself is tempered, thereby eliminating disruptive influences from operation.
All four stages of axle temperature control are supplied by the extended Kern temperature management system. This is located in the integrated hybrid unit.
To increase your production capacities, Kern Microtechnik offers not "only" its machines, but also the complete manufacturing process for your parts on request.
